Dora Cake Recipe – Easy No Egg Super Spongy Dorayaki Doraemon – CookingShooking
Hey Foodies, Incase you are planning to make Dora Cake at home, then you should definitely make it without thinking twice. They are loved by kids and it’s an ideal dish to make during children’s day celebration or at your kids birthday party. This dora cake is made in Indian style without eggs and red bean paste. Smooth and flowing batter made with butter, cream and condensed milk. Cooked slowly until just brown, chocolate spread generously and served. Let’s get cooking!!!!
INGREDIENTS:
- Butter - 27 gms 2 tbsp
- Cream - 60 ml ¼ cup / 4 tbsp
- Condensed Milk - 80 gms ¼ cup / 4 tbsp
- Powdered Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Water - 80 ml extra 2 tbsp, if required
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- Maida - 1 cup
- Nutella / Chocolate spread - 100 gms
RECIPE STEPS:
- In a large mixing bowl combine, melted butter, fresh cream, condensed milk and powdered sugar.
- Mix everything until you get a lump free batter, ensure that all the sugar is melted and mixed properly.
- Once done using a whisk, whisk the batter for 2 minutes, this will incorporate air and make the dora cake lighter and softer.
- Add less than ½ cup of water and give it a good mix. Add baking powder and mix.
- Finally add maida and give it a good mix, make a lump free batter.
- Add the remaining water if batter is too thick. The batter consistency should be flowing.
- Before making the cake, ensure you have a non-stick pan with a lid and also you have the same measure of the ladel or measuring cup to scoop the batter.
- Preheat a non-stick pan, using a damp cloth, clean the pan, this step will even and normalise the temperature in the pan.
- Using a measuring cup, scoop the batter and divide the batter into two, so that you can make two dora cake at one time. The batter will automatically start spreading; you do not have to spread the batter. Cover the pan and cook for 1 minute over low flame.
- When you see air bubbles on top, flip the dora cake, it will look raw from the top. Cover the pan and continue to cook the cake for another 30 seconds. Do not overcook the cake, or else cake would be tough.
- Once both the sides are brown, continue cooking the remaining dora cake. Spongy Dora cakes are ready.
- Once done make sets of all the dora cake, same size and shape. You should get around 10 sets of the dora cake.
- Spread 1 tbsp of the Chocolate spread on one side of the cake and then cover with the other side, continue doing this until you prepare all the sets.
serve
- Serve the Dorayaki cake to the kids, they will love it.
RECIPE NOTES :
Notes: The batter has to be lump free and free flowing. Do not spread the batter with spoon, as the batter is free flowing it will automatically spread. Use the non-stick pan which has a cover, and also same measuring spoon or cup. Tips: Traditional Dora cake is made with eggs, honey and red bean paste spread.
